I am so inspired! You all have such wonderful ideas! Here’s an overview of some of the great ideas that have been shared thus far:

*Write the things your kids say or do right on your calendar and then keep the calendars.

*Write in the journals as if you are writing directly to the child.

*Use blogs and photo sharing sites to document the kids experiences and share your heart.

*Use a three-ring binder with a different section for each kid–keep it in the kitchen for easy access.

*Build traditions into your kids lives for them to remember.

*Write things on sticky notes for a quick reminder of what to include in a future journal entry.

*Keep the kids journals in your bathroom reading basket (hey, sometimes thats the only place where we have a moment of quiet!)

*Write a letter once a year to your kids, put it in an envelope and send it to yourself. Save the sealed letters and give them to your children someday.

*Use photography to capture memories.

*Make a prayer journal for your kids, showing them the legacy of prayer.

This last suggestion seemed to touch the heart of many of us. If you’re looking to be inspired to pray more intentionally for your kids, you might want to pick up Fern Nichols book Every Child Needs A Praying Mom.

And if your kids are in school, you definitely want to know about Moms In Touch. In a Moms In Touch group you’ll commit just one hour a week to pray for your children and their school. I’ve been a part of a Moms In Touch group for much of the past 18 years. It’s an incredible experience.

We’ve got a few more days remaining for you to share how you keep the family memories. Click here to see the original post and to read all the wonderful ideas that have been shared. I’ll draw the winner of the Hearts at Home book of your choice on Tuesday!
