Every child has a limited perspective of the world.  It’s our job as moms to help expand their knowledge of the world and to introduce them not only to other cultures, but also the reality that others do not have the same level of lifestyle that most of us do.

One way Mark and I have decided to make our home a cultural center is by sponsoring a child through Compassion, International.  Our child is Ander.  He’s five years old and lives in Honduras.  Because Ander cannot read or write yet, he draws pictures for us and we send him letters usually accompanied with a sheet of stickers.

Our family members take turns writing him letters and encouraging him.  We also pray for him on a regular basis.

Here are some pictures we were sent after we sent some extra finances for a Christmas gift.  Compassion is so good to send pictures of what was purchased with any extra money sent for Christmas or birthdays.

Have you ever considered sponsoring a Compassion child?  It’s just $38/month and it makes such a huge difference in the Compassion child’s life and the life of your own children!
