MARRIAGE COACHING

Do you seem to have the same arguments over and over without resolve?

Do you feel miles apart and don’t know how to find each other again?

Are you healing from infidelity and need a couple who’s been there help guide your healing process?

Maybe you’re doing well in your marriage but you want to make sure you stay that way!

No More Perfect Marriages Coaching developed out of our own marriage pain, our healing work, and the hundreds of requests we receive for couples looking for help for their marriage. Some couples schedule marriage mentoring preventively—it’s a time to push the pause button and ask, “How are we really doing?” Others seek it out for their broken marriage barely hanging on by a thread.

We’re self-described as being married 39 years, 29 of them happily. Many lessons have been learned while turning around our hurting relationship which included pornography, high amounts of criticism, and infidelity. After moving past those experiences and others, we’re committed to offering hope and help to other couples any way we can.

If you schedule No More Perfect Marriages Coaching, Mark and Jill will:

  • Help you move from frustration to fascination with your differences
  • Show you how to give and receive love, forgiveness, and grace more intentionally
  • Help you hear each other better and equip you with improved communication tools
  • Lead you to develop a practical plan to rebuild trust if it’s been broken.
  • Assist you in evaluating your past and discovering how it’s affecting your present
  • Help you develop a plan to keep your marriage a priority
  • Assist you in discovering the seven slow fades every marriage experiences and identifying which ones specifically are robbing you of intimacy
  • Empower you to use your eight God-Tools to turn around those fades
  • Provide compassionate, honest conversation with occasional humor, that helps you know you’re not alone while taking your marriage to the next level.

WHY COACHING?

We’re firm believers in marriage counseling, but we’ve also found there’s a place for marriage coaching. Some couples do both coaching and counseling. Others do coaching instead of counseling. And still, others do coaching before or after counseling.

Here are the benefits of marriage coaching:

  • We can meet online so you don’t have to travel.
  • We meet at a time that works for your schedule (often at night).
  • We give you practical, life-application strategies based on your needs.
  • We help you get to the root of the issues you keep tripping over in your relationship.
  • We give you the ability to connect by email, phone, and text in between coaching sessions.

TIMEFRAME AND INVESTMENT

Because there is value in stepping away from the everyday and focusing solely on your marriage, we have created three different coaching options and price points. The “Marriage 2.0” Intensive allows us to give you our full attention for a period of time. We only work with one couple at a time for those extended coaching opportunities.

If coming to our home for an intensive isn’t an option, we also offer couple to couple coaching using the Zoom video meeting platform (or in person if you live in Central Illinois).

We believe in your marriage and want to help you so we will do it any way we can!

All-inclusive meals, lodging, coaching in Normal, Illinois

In the summer, our beautiful wrap-around porch beckons you to come sit and talk, read, or just think and pray in between coaching sessions. In the winter, our large home with a private guest living room offers the same.

Our country setting provides a restorative place to talk, listen, learn, and slow the pace to give love space.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Because we never want finances to get in the way of any couple receiving help, we offer a limited number of reduced coaching options each year. We do require some financial investment even in those cases, however. What we’ve found is that if we don’t, we often end up wanting the healing more than the couple who came for free. If you need to apply for a reduced mentoring option, please let us know.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING…

“My wife and I spent one weekend with Mark and Jill for marriage mentoring. It was amazing! Their wealth of knowledge and vulnerability made it easy to connect with them. They gave us awesome tools to use in our relationship. We had some tough conversations and worked through some hard stuff, but it needed to be done. This was, for me, the best weekend I have had with my wife since we’ve been married. I have never felt closer to her or more motivated to invest in our marriage and continue to learn and grow. I used to be kind of put off by “counseling” and thought that was only for really messed up people. Well news flash I’m a really messed up person, so I need it just as much as anyone else. I would encourage and challenge all of us to do counseling or mentoring of some kind, not only for ourselves but our marriage, our children, our grandchildren, and for generations to come. There is strength in seeking to better yourself and your relationships. You don’t have to be in a bad place to do that. Work on it before and it won’t get to that point.”

TRANSPORTATION AND CITY INFO

Located in Normal, Illinois, which is two hours south of Chicago, two hours north of St. Louis, and two and a half hours west of Indianapolis, our home is in the country and surrounded by miles of corn and bean fields. However, we’re only three miles from stores and restaurants. It’s country quiet with city conveniences just down the road.

If you’re flying in, we recommend flying into BMI—the airport in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. Our home is located about 3 miles from the airport. If you prefer to fly into Chicago or St. Louis, you can also rent a car, catch a bus (Peoria Charter), or take the Amtrak train to Bloomington-Normal. We are happy to provide transportation to and from the Bloomington airport, train, or bus station.

Bloomington-Normal is filled with Abraham Lincoln history. The David Davis Mansion is located in town and we’re only a one-hour drive (or train ride) to Lincoln sites in Springfield, Illinois (Presidential Museum and Lincoln Home). Bloomington-Normal is also located along Route 66 and there is a Route 66 Museum in town. There are over 40 parks and 27 miles of blacktop walking, riding, and running trails through town.
