You know, even when your kids fly out of the nest and are living life on their own, you’re still proud of their accomplishments just like when they got their first A on a report card.
Our local Christian radio station, WCIC, is having an “American Idol-type” contest and the winner will open for the 33 Miles Concert in Peoria on June 5, and receive an evaluation by a Christian recording label.
My son, Evan, entered the contest with his band “Courtland,” and they were selected as one of the 12 finalists who will now compete this Saturday (4/25) at a live event in Washington, IL. The audience will select the top four finalists and then online voting will take place in May to determine the final winner.
If you live in the central Illinois area and have heard about the contest on WCIC, but didn’t know anyone involved, come join in the fun Saturday night and support “Courtland.” They are a great band who write and perform original worship music.
Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased online at 91.5 WCIC’s Opening Act Contest. If he makes it in the top four and into the online voting, I’ll let you know!
