In order to upgrade our internet speed, they had to shut our internet down for a week.  The first few days were hard…we’re all so used to being connected to the world wide web!  Then we got used to not being behind a computer keyboard…and once we were reconnected to the internet world I’ve actually found it hard to get myself back online!

Don’t get me wrong….I missed hanging out with some of my favorite people here in the blog world.  But an “internet fast”…forced as it was…has a way of getting things back in balance.  Just like anything we choose to fast from: food, technology, complaining, and yes….internet.

I remember hearing Lisa Welchel speak about a fast God asked her to take.  It was a fast from making decisions.  She was dealing with how “control” had taken over her heart.  She chose to fast from decision-making…allowing her husband to make all of the family decisions for a certain amount of time.  She reported that it brought healing to her heart, respect to her marriage, and balance to her life.

Have you ever considered a fast?  Might that be part of the new year?  I’d love to hear your thoughts about it!

Three things are coming in the next week:

1) I still have a few more drawings to make for our 25 Days of Giveaways!  I promise to make those in the next few days.
2) My daughter, Anne, and I are working on a blog redesign!  I’m excited to freshen up the look and layout of my blog.  I’ll be happy to hear what you think, too!
3) My husband, Mark, and I are making some life transitions and a pretty big step of faith.  I’m excited to share the details with you soon!

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your new year celebrations!  Thanks for spending 2009 with me.  I look forward to our time together in 2010!
