I’ve been a bit unplugged for the past few days. My Grandma’s health has been failing and we had to make a trip to Indianapolis to help my sisters and parents move her out of a retirement home and into an assisted living facility. I didn’t take my computer and enjoyed a few days of being disconnected from technology. I think a “technology fast” is good for all of us on occasion!
Here’s a picture I took of Grandma and I Monday night. She’s 92 years young!
While in Indy, I had the opportunity to hang with three friends from high school. I met Jody, Lora, and Julie during the school musical “Fiddler on the Roof.” They were all seniors and I was a sophomore. But they welcomed me with open arms into their special friendship and our relationship as sisters in Christ has grown in our adult years. Jody lives in California so getting together when she’s in the Midwest is a priority! It was great girlfriend time!
I’m loving the “Yes” mom stories. If you haven’t had a chance to read the brief, but powerful “yes” mom moments being submitted, take a minute and do that now! You can find them here. I particularly loved Pat’s comment today about how she’s realizing that saying yes is really about slowing down and enjoying our kids. Great perspective, Pat!
Remember, every time you share a story, you submit an entry into my July giveaway! I’ll be drawing a name this weekend to win a Hearts at Home gift package!
Hey Jill,
It was great to see the picture of your friends. I knew Lora when she was working at Lincoln Christian College because I was also working there at the time. It was fun to see a picture of her and your other friends. I'm thankful God gives us the blessing of life long friends. 🙂
Jody
Thanks Jody! That's neat that you know Lora. My husband and my first date was at Lora and Neil's wedding!
