I recently heard this:
“God has the ability to judge and love at the same time. We, however, cannot do both at the same time. If we are judging someone, we can’t be loving them. And if we are loving them, we can’t be judging them.”
That’s been messing with my mind for the last few days. Now I’ll let it mess with yours.
It’s a pretty powerful, convicting statement, isn’t it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Wow, that's food for thought this morning. Yes, a very powerful and convicting statement. I do believe it's accurate though. The first thing that comes to mind as an example of this is when people say they're "speaking the truth in love" but it sounds like they're beating you over the head with what they think you should have done. It feels a whole lot more like judgement and not so much like love. (and it's not constructive criticism either.)
WOW! That has been messing with my mind lately too! Funny how God "speaks" to use through other people. She's been talking to me a lot lately. Through signs, other people's posts, scripture that jumps out at me, you name it. Nothing is a mistake, he means for you to hear or read certain things. THANK YOU God & Jill for "throwing" this in my face. I really needed it.
