I’m sorry it’s been since last Thursday that I posted. I’ve been a bit under the weather. I’m still dealing with pain from an auto accident a year and a half ago. I’ve been doing trigger point injections in my shoulder and they’ve been very helpful in relaxing the muscles that have been knotted up since the accident. On Wednesday they decided to do an injection on the right side of my neck…definitely no fun but since my shoulder has responded so well to the injections we decided to treat the neck in a similar way.
The neck injection has been quite painful and causing terrible headaches. I literally never got out of bed on Sunday because the headache was so terrible. That’s never happened to me before. I’m a “push through it” kind of gal. But this stopped me in my tracks. Today the headache has moved from a pain scale of 9 out of 10 to a 3 so things are definitely improving. They also started me on some meds to try and turn it around. I don’t like drugs…at all. I avoid them whenever I can. But something has to change with the headache!
Anyway, it was a gorgeous weekend here in Illinois and I absolutely hated missing the beautiful day outside! What’s it like in your neck of the woods? Did you do anything fun over the weekend?
By the way, I was just sharing with a blog friend how to post a comment on a blog. If you’ve never done it before and want to try, here are some instructions:
- Go to: jillsavage.org
- Find the post you want to comment on.
- At the end of the post it will say “0 comments” or “3 comments” or something like that.
- Click on the number of comments
- At the bottom of the comments you’ll see a box that says “post a comment”
- You can type your comment into the box
- Select your ID—if you have a google account or one of the others listed, use that. If not, anonymous is fine.
- Hit “post comment” (If it asks for a security code enter the numbers it gives you)
- You’re done!
I’d love to hear about your weekend. And if it’s your first time to post a comment on any blog, let me know that too! I’ll do a drawing from those of you who post for the first time by Friday at midnight. I’ll draw a winner for a Hearts at Home gift sometime on the weekend!
Hi Jill,
Sorry to hear about your accident, and the continuing pain. Hopefully your headache will completely subside. I have headaches frequently and know how that can be. This is my first blog post. Thanks for the directions. Our weekend in Brownsburg, Indiana was beautiful. Great weather for my kids junior football games! Have a great day!
i don't have any of those "id's" so I am posting as anonymous, but really I am Cathy Dickson 🙂
Cathy,
You did it! Thanks for posting! And thanks for sharing your weekend. My sister lives in Brownsburg and her kids play junior football games. Have you run into Juli Krizon? Her boys are Caleb and Conner Krizon.
Jill,
I live in Kingsport, Tennessee (northeastern part of the state). The weather is still nice enough for shorts here – 60 in the morning, 80 by afternoon. We're still enjoying playing outside every afternoon. I've commented before but I just wanted to say I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for writing it.
Cathy
Jill, you know I always enjoy your blogs! We had a great weekend and are planning our last campfire with neighbors for this weekend. We can't believe its stil nice here in ROchester, MN. Thank the Lord! (This is my first comment on a blog. How exciting. How do I go about getting an official blog "name?") ~Jess
Just came across your book the other day in a Christian Book Store and picked it up! I love your mission! Being at home is such a privelage…one that I feel God created us for, but unfortunately, the world doesn't see it that way! Thank you for validating our work as Moms and wives by your books and website! Best of luck to you and hope you are on your feet again soon! Tami from Oregon
Tami, I'm so glad you found the book and the blog! Which book did you find?
Hi Jill,
This is my first time posting on your blog. I really enjoy reading it,your books, and all of the little tips you have. I also LOVE the Hearts at Home Conference and am looking forward to it again this fall!
We live in Rosemount, MN and the weather was gorgeous last weekend. We spent it getting a few odds and ends done as I just started back to school this week teaching preschool (my 1st year!) part time at our church.
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident and pain and said a prayer for you after reading your post. I also struggle with headaches and pain from a car accident.
Thank you for the many wonderful things you have done with Hearts at Home. It is such a fabulous outreach to so many women.
God Bless,
Kim Ostrum
So sorry to hear about your struggle with pain – I can relate and know it's a major challenge. I live in central Iowa and we've had beautiful weather here lately with a bit of an Indian summer after a very cool summer. Just was talking with my best friend today and helping her figure out how to get to her first hearts conference this fall. She has 5 young kids and would be so blessed by the conference. I'm so excited to share the experience with her – it's such a blessed weekend and a great encouragement. Thanks for your ministry!!
Well, stink, I missed the deadline for the drawing, but wanted to post anyway!
I just finished "Real Moms – Real Jesus" and appreciated the way you help moms make Christ so relevant in the day to day.
I am a MOPS Coordinator in Central Minnesota and we're looking forward to the Convention in Rochester this fall! Thank you for your ministry and all you do. LOVED the wedding pictures, btw. GORGEOUS fam!!
