Today is packing day for me as I prepare to leave for Europe tomorrow. For those of you joining in on the Real Moms…Real Jesus discussion don’t worry…we’re still on for Chapter 3 tomorrow! I’ll be following your comments at the airports we’ll be in!
Please be praying for my family as Mark holds down the fort. He’s great about filling in the gaps on the rare times that I’m away–but it’s still alot to deal with alone. I’ve been preparing freezer meals so at least they won’t starve while I’m away!
I have something I’d like to ask for your help with this week. I’m speaking at Garrison Army base all day on Thursday. I’d like to bless the families who serve our country in a special way by having you comment on this post with a message directly to these families. On Thursday, I’ll send them to the post so they can read your comments directly. These families make many sacrifices to protect our country, our freedom, and our families. They deserve to hear our gratitude.
Please take a moment today to post a message while you’re thinking of it. People will have through Thursday night to post their encouragement so please tell your friends about this opportunity, too! I’m hoping for lots of encouragement to share with these special moms and dads!
My son is a plebe (1st year) at West Point. All this military stuff is new to our family, but…wow…what we have learned in this short year. I’ll be honest, I have always loved and appreciated the service of military families (and I say *families* because everyone sacrifices not just the dad or/and mom who is/are serving), however, when my son decided that he wanted to join the U.S. Army I began to ‘pay attention’ (no pun intended…ha).
I seriously don’t have a category to express my appreciation and thanks to you. It runs very deep in my heart, and I am tearing up even as I type this. Please know that you are not forgotten and no matter what you may hear to the contrary there are millions of Americans that feel exactly like I do. We love you.
While I do not have any family members in the military currently, I have several friends who have served in Iraq, and both Grandfathers served in WWII. Our family would like to thank you for all that you do, and especially your families for the sacrifices they make to live abroad and support you as well. God bless all of you!!
Thanks for doing this, Jill! It does mean a lot to us when people recognize that it’s not super easy to do what we do :).
Just a note of thanks and gratitude for all you do-we appreciate your sacrifice! It cannot be easy to step out of your comfort zone to serve our country. Thanks for your courage! May God be your strength and shield! Know that we are praying for you!
We appreciate the sacrifices you make. A prayer for you.
Lord,
I pray you would give these special families your strength, courage, and hope. Encourage them and sustain them as they spend time away from their families and friends. Watch over them. Bless them as they serve others.
Amen.
Thank you all for your sacrifices, and for your service to our country. We keep you in our hearts and prayers, in Jesus’s Name.
Thankyou for all you do for us. For your time,
service and obedience to our amazing country.
Thankyou! May God Bless You and Your Family!!!
My thouhts and prayers are with you all each and
every day!
Thank you for all you do to protect our freedoms and our safety! Our prayers and thoughts are with each of you and for your safe return to your families. God Bless!!
Thank You for having the courage and strength that many don’t to defend our beautiful country! May God Bless you and your families and keep you safe!
Thank you for your dedication and service. You are truly appreciated. I’m so thankful for your bravery as you work daily for our country. God bless you today!
We have several family members and friends who have served, and are proud of that heritage….thank you all so much for your sacrifice, your courage, and your dedication! You bless millions upon millions of people every single day!
I’m not sure I know where to start with my thanks for all of you military families. . .You have everything we have to deal with on a regular basis, such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, challenging and hilarious kids, etc. But, on top of that, you often do it alone while your spouse is off serving our country. So, thanks just doesn’t seem like enough. We appreciate you, we admire your courage and dedication, we pray for you, and we recently adopted a soldier through “Aunt Nancy”, which is our way of physically showing our appreciation.
So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! And, know that we are praying for you!

Thanks so very much to each and every one of you for the sacrifices you are making for our country and the rest of us back “home”. As a military mom whose son served in Iraq 3 years ago, this is near and dear to my heart. I so appreciate everything you do! Keeping you in my prayers – that “no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent”. Psalms 91:10 (all of Psalms 91 is an awesome prayer of protection). God Bless you!! How do I even begin to thank each of you for the sacrifices you are making serving our country. You are true heroes. We have taught our children the importance of thanking current and past veterans because it is the very least we can do as a thank you for our freedom. The sight of the flag and hearing the National Anthem brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me of the many, many people who have fought and died preserving the freedom we enjoy each day. I pray for your safety and also that you will have special blessings come your way. I’m also praying for your families and their strength. We’re so proud of each of you! Thank you for all you do!
My father and grandfather served in the armed forces so I have always been appreciative of the sacrifices that all you folks make. The freedoms we enjoy are because people like you have served our country. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel, but please know that your sacrifice and that of your families is appreciated beyond measure. I am also trying to instill in my children to always express appreciation not only for our free country but all those who have served to keep us free. Thank you and may God keep and bless you all!
Thank you for the many, many sacrifices you make for our country. You make freedom possible for all of us and there is no way we can repay that incredible gift. May God’s favor and blessings be upon you!!
As the mother, and mother-in-law, of soldiers serving in Afghanistan I know the great sacrifice is that you, as soldiers, and your families make in service to your country. Tonight, we bid them farewell once again as their leave ends and they return to service overseas. There are not enough words to thank you, and your families, for the sacrifices that you have to make in order to serve and protect. I cannot help but think of the final commandment in the Jesus Creed, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. Each and every soldier has set aside a part of their life to travel to unknown places, live among ‘neighbors’ they have never met, in a strange land, away from the comfort and security of home in order to lift up and give hope to those who have little. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being living, breathing examples of the Jesus Creed for me. I pray that others will see the good things that you are doing in service to God and our ‘neighbors’. God Bless You All!
I pray for strength for you and your families as I have had to walk in your shoes for one year while my husband served leaving me and my 5 week son behind. I know it gets lonely not being with your family member the but “look to the hills from whence your strength comes” and this too shall pass.
I love you and thank you
Thank you for all you do and sacrifice for us all!
May God richly bless you!
I pray for each one who is serving our country, giving us the freedoms to go about each day. May God protect you and bring you safely home to your families!! God Bless the USA
Not only are you soldiers our heroes, but your spouses, children, and love you ones who bravely say good bye. “As for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.” I Samuel 12:23
Hello Military Families!
You are awesome! I was in the Army for 8 years and I know how challenging it is for both the service member and the family. I know that it takes both a supportive family and a strong service member to make it work.
I am so blessed for my time in the army and still after being out for 6 years maintain close relationships with those I served. I hope you find a blessing in those relationships too. I pray for you often and thank God for you and your service member (husband or wife). God Bless You!
Thank you so much for your commitment to our freedom and the sacrifice you’re willing to make as a family.
God Bless You!
From one military family to another: Thank you for your service to our country.
I want to thank you so much for your service to our country. As a Pastor, I have known many people who have served, or are serving. I know your occupation comes with many challenges, of which many are unique. I am deeply grateful that you are working to keep our world safe. I am praying for you, that in the midst of your challenges you will find God’s peace, comfort inner strength; and that you will serve and protect your family as strongly as you are protecting our world. God Bless! Mark
Your devotion and service to our country and those in need in other countries does not go unnoticed. Thank you for giving your all during this season of your life. Thank you to your family for allowing you to give the gift of serving your fellow countrymen and women.
I just came home from the morning session of the Heart at Home Conference in Wiesbaden, Germany. What a blessing to have you here! I can’t wait for the evening session and the book signing. THANK YOU! Barbara
