That’s our topic of the day. What homemade gifts are your favorite to give or receive?
It’s been years since I’ve made them, but one of my favorite is Cinnamon Cutout Ornaments. They are so easy and make the house smell great: 1 cup cinnamon, 2/3 cup of applesauce, and 1 tbsp white glue. Mix together with spoon. Roll dough out 1/4 inch thick on surface lightly sprinkled with cinnamon. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Place shapes on cookie sheet and use a straw to make a hole at the top of the shape. Let shapes dry for 24-48 hours or bake them in oven at 250 degrees for several hours until hard. (I usually bake them!) After cooled, dry, and hard, string ribbon through hole to hang this great smelling ornament!
If you participate in today’s discussion you’ll be entered to win the book Homespun Gifts from the Heart. This book is full of fun, creative, easy, and inexpensive gift ideas. This giveaway and discussion will run through midnight 12/10/09!
