When you’re in a crisis, you need something to hang on. God’s truth is an anchor in the storm. He gives us 8 promises that we can remember in the midst of crisis. These promises give up hope and help as we navigate difficult seasons in our lives.
Download the printable (at the bottom of the post) and post it somewhere that you see often to give yourself reminders of these promises.
1. He is working all for our good.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
2. He will complete His work.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
3. He carries us.
Praise be to the Lod, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” Psalm 68:19
4. He strengthens us.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
5. His grace is sufficient for us.
“So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.” 2 Corinthians 4:12
6. His goodness is satisfying.
“‘I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty.’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 31:14
7. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond your ability.
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
8. He gives us rest.
“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in hear, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30
Hi Jill,
I’m praying for God’s comfort and love to surround you and His strength to hold you up right now. Thank you so much for this. I have printed these promises out and will put it on our fridge so it’s handy for whenever they are needed.
We are not going through a crisis currently, but my oldest daughter still struggles with anxiety. I believe she is doing better since she started a new job two weeks ago. It will bring its own challenges since she will be earning less than half her previous income. However, thanks to Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace classes (she listened to the first several on the discs when we took it) I believe she is financially prepared. She is also realizing her dream of pursuing her art on a freelance basis and starting up an etsy shop. What will become of that, I don’t know but I do know that she is feeling less stressed and anxious.
Thank you so much for all that you do for us moms and on behalf of families. I know that I have been helped so much from the advice that you have passed down from your own experiences and from others.
Thank you for this!! Perfect for not allowing the enemy to steal the truth from us when we might be down and feeling defeated! Praying for you Jill!
Thank you, Susan!
Praise The Lord! Your Your presentation of “8 Promises You can count on in a crisis” had been an immense help in my recent preparation of a Writeup of The Word of God. ThanQ!
You’re welcome!

Thru my anger I was ready to let my son go snd he meant the world to me. I see my dil a married woman living a single life and the OTHER woman a single girl living a married life. My son turns 50 snd the girl is in her 20s. How do I help my son?
You pray. And pray. And pray. And pray. I think you will find my Empty Nest Full Life book helpful–especially the chapter on Letting God of Your Child’s Problems. https://amzn.to/3MLulha
