Does reading the Bible excite you or intimidate you? Is it something you look forward to or feel obligated to do? Do you struggle to find the time to make it a consistent priority? Honestly, I’ve felt all those things and more! There are seasons of life when I can’t wait to dig into God’s Word and other seasons when it’s hard to find the motivation.

That rollercoaster of emotions is why I’m so excited to introduce you to today’s podcast guest, Brittany Ann.

After seeing how many people wanted to read the Bible more but struggled to actually do it, Brittany founded EquippingGodlyWomen.com, where she challenges, encourages, and equips Christian women to be ALL IN in faith and family. She’s also the author of the brand new book, Fall in Love with God’s Word: Practical Strategies for Busy Women.

In today’s episode, Brittany shares why many women struggle to make reading the Bible a priority, what limiting beliefs are often in the way of getting in God’s Word, the best place to start in the Bible if you’re new to it, and what we’ll see in our lives when we’re consistently making time with God and His Word.

Brittany is a steady presence with a lot of practical wisdom to share! I look forward to hearing what you take away from this conversation!

21-Day Bible Reading Challenge

My Key Takeaways:

1) Finding time in God’s Word has less to do with our time and more to do with our perspectives. Oftentimes, even for us who grew up in the Church, we carry perspectives about the Bible from our childhood that lead to limiting beliefs. We might just view it as a book of stories, or as something that’s only valuable for us to study (instead of read for our lives), or something different. It’s important to get a fresh perspective of what the Bible actually is to reframe how we approach our routine.

2) We can make time in God’s Word work for our unique season of life and schedule. Brittany shares about how she determined when the best time to read God’s Word would be, and how developing that routine made it possible for her to be more flexible without losing her consistency. What works best is different for every woman, but it truly is possible to stay consistent in our time with God and His Word.

3) When you read the Bible, you increase the vocabulary of the Holy Spirit in your life. I heard this years ago and it has stuck with me ever since. When we start to internalize God’s Word, we find ourselves thinking about Scripture more often, using biblical truth as we’re making decisions, shifting away from negative thought patterns, and seeing the Spirit work with greater clarity in our day-to-day. The Bible truly is living and active!
