Dad,
I am so grateful for you.
You showed me how to love. You have always showed unconditional love.
You showed me how to lead. I watched you lead at work, at church, and in the community.
You shared with me your love of music. I loved doing community theater with you when I was a teenager. I always enjoyed doing the Christmas and Easter cantatas at church with you.
You showed me how to serve. You’ve always been willing to help those around you. You’ve served our family in so many ways.
You showed me how to garden and we enjoy the fresh vegetables every summer because of the “seeds” you planted in my heart many years ago.
You showed me how to grandparent. You’ve been there for my kids even across the miles. You and mom didn’t hesitate to make a 5 hour round trip for a grandchild’s baseball game or a choir concert.
You showed me how to live a life of integrity and you showed me how to love Jesus.
I’m so grateful for you and your influence upon my life. That’s why today I honor you.
