I’m told that I don’t post often enough so I promise I’ll try to be better in the coming weeks! But you have to remember, it’s Hearts at Home National conference countdown for me so it’s getting a little crazy! By the way, you can still register for the conference by calling 309-828-MOMS!
Yesterday was my birthday and you won’t believe what the sweetest part of my day was. It was when my 23 year old daughter called me and sang Happy Birthday and then my almost 21 year old son did the same about two hours later. Both of them sang beautifully and then when they came to the close of the song they sang, “Happy Birthday dear MOMMY, happy birthday to you.” They called me mommy! That was such music to my ears! I LOVED IT!
I may be getting older and they may be getting older, but they still think of me as mommy sometimes. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present!
Happy Birthday Jill!!!
Happy Birthday to you! Mine was last week! I just turned 28 and I still think of my mom (who I am very good friends with) as my mommy. Especially now that I have two kids of my own, I have a whole new appreciation for her and everything she’s done for me and my siblings over the years.
My home church is having a ladies retreat the same weekend at Hearts at Home. I have had a really hard time deciding which to attend. I’ve finally settled on going to the church retreat and ordering a home conference packet (that I’ll be going through with a friend). We both have nursing little ones right now but really want to attend Hearts at Home next year. We’re going to talk to the leadership and try to make sure that the retreat isn’t close to the conference next time so we can get a group of girls from church to go together! I’m almost done reading Professionalizing Motherhood and I just bought Is There Sex After Kids. Good stuff! Thanks!
Happy Birthday Jill! Can’t wait to attend H@H conference for the 1st time next month!
