In life’s darkest moments, have you ever wondered if your prayers are really heard? When desperation strikes, is it possible to actually exchange panic for peace? While God is near and He hears our prayers, it sometimes might feel like He isn’t listening.

In this conversation, we are going to be talking about how to embrace the power of prayer in life’s darkest moments. Helping me do this is my dear friend Rachel Wojo.

Rachel is an inspirational author, public speaker, podcaster, and is known for her popular blog, RachelWojo.com, as well as her podcast, Untangling Life. Despite enduring the loss of her mother, her adult special needs daughter, and her father, Rachel remains resilient as she empowers women to discover strength and hope in everyday conversations.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

  • The purpose of prayer
  • Three ways God speaks to us
  • How to pray from a dark place
  • And so much more!

I hope this episode offers hope and help in whatever circumstances you are facing!

My Key Takeaways:

1) Prayer is a communication tool. All too often we treat prayer as a request form or a help hotline. Whenever we encounter difficulties or troubles that we cannot solve on our own, that’s when we go to prayer. Of course, bringing our troubles to God is a portion of prayer, but it is not the main purpose. Prayer is one of the ways that we build a relationship with our Creator.

2) God speaks to us in several ways. Have you longed to hear God speak but don’t know where His voice comes from? Rachel shares in this episode the three ways that God speaks to us and those are through His Word (the Bible), through other people, and through His Spirit. In order to hear God speak, we need to be reading the Bible and praying regularly to discern His voice.

3) Our circumstances may not change. Scripture is full of stories of faithful people whose circumstances either didn’t change right away or never changed. The same may be true of your situation. God may not solve it right away, but He is always with us through all of life’s ups and downs.
