True confession: I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas.

It’s true. I LOVE celebrating the birth of Jesus! I love being reminded of the real reason for the season. I love the Christmas lights and the Christmas carols that tell the story of the birth of Jesus.

It’s the gift giving part of Christmas that I don’t enjoy. Yes, it’s true. I’m not a gift giver nor do I need gifts myself. I don’t enjoy that part at all! Never have and probably never will.

Don’t get me wrong. I love seeing the joy on my kids and grandkids faces when they open up something they’ve wanted and are surprised by it. I enjoy the time we’re gathered as a family (however that will or won’t look this year–can you say Zoom Christmas?).

I just don’t enjoy the selecting of gifts, the wrapping of gifts, or dealing with gifts in general.  While it’s not a popular thing to say, that’s being totally honest. And I bet I’m not the only one.

However there are some gifts that I’m absolutely excited about giving! These don’t have to be wrapped in red and green and placed under a Christmas tree. In fact, these can be given every single day of the year. They are delivered in person. They cost not one penny. Yet, they make a HUGE difference in the relationships that mean the most to us.

These are the gifts that I’m talking about in Episode 24 of the No More Perfect Podcast! If you listen before Christmas, it will help your Christmas go smoother. If you listen after Christmas, it will make every day of your life better!

Now go and give some gifts that will REALLY make a difference this year!
