Today's Opportunity Plan Day 12

In this unique season of family togetherness, we have the opportunity to be intentional about our self-care, our relationships, and even taking care of the home we live in.
Sometimes we need a little vision, though. A plan. Some ideas that get us heading in the right direction.
If you missed my introduction to “Today’s Opportunity Plan,” you can find it here.

Here’s Day 12:

Your soul:
Take a few minutes and just sit with God and listen for what he wants to impress on your heart. “What do you have for me today Lord?” Then WAIT. Too often we do all the talking and sometimes we just need to listen for what God has for us. He may give you a word, or a bible verse, or bring someone to mind. He may also just let you sit in His peaceful presence.

You:

Who are you missing? What friend or family member fills you up when you spend time with them? Get a video call scheduled with them today!

Marriage:

Forgive. Where do you need to chose forgiveness, put a hurt in God’s hands, and stop holding it against your spouse?

Kids:

Everyone outside for 15 minutes minimum each day.

Kids: Got tape? Today is a great day to make a stained glass window. Make a “design” with tape on a window. (You might try a cross for Easter with random shapes around it. Here’s a picture on Facebook of someone who did that!) Then have your kids paint the window. You can use wet or dry erase markers or, according to the above Facebook post, mix kids washable paint with a bit of water and a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap.

Teens: It’s time to start thinking about a summer job. If they’re going to be entrepreneurial in nature and do something like babysitting or yard work, they can use today to design flyers or put info out on the Next Door app to reach those in your neighborhood. If they want to work in a restaurant or store, they can start a list of possible workplaces. While it’s not the best time to be finding a job, they can get positioned for a job search. If they’ve never filled out an online application, doing one or two could be helpful in knowing what info will be asked.

Exercise:

When was the last time you did a jumping jack? See if you can do two sets of twenty.

House/Homemaking

Time to clean out your freezer. (If you have a deep freeze, just focus on the refrigerator freezer today!)

Clothes:

Pick a closet and tackle it.
You’ve got a unique opportunity today! Use it well!
