In this unique season of family togetherness, we have the opportunity to be intentional about our self-care, our relationships, and even taking care of the home we live in.
Sometimes we need a little vision, though. A plan. Some ideas that get us heading in the right direction.
I introduced the concept of “Today’s Opportunity Plan” on Sunday. If you missed it, you can find it here.
Here’s Day 6:
Your soul:
Read Psalm 91 aloud today. When we read and hear the words, they can be even more powerful.
You:
Sit and breathe. Sit for five minutes, close your eyes, and focusing on breathing in and breathing out slowly.
Marriage:
Ask each other what you need this weekend, then make a plan to help each other get what you each need.
Kids:
Everyone outside for 15 minutes minimum each day.
Put on music and have a dance party. Teach your kids the hokey pokey and the chicken dance. Let each person have their own cameo performance. Laugh and have fun together.
Teens: Have them create their own cooking show and post it on social media. Tag @magnolia and #webelieveinhome (if you didn’t see Joanna Gaines challenge on this yesterday you can watch the video on Joanna Gaines Facebook and Instagram pages!)
Exercise:
When was the last time you did a push up? (Yes, doing them on your knees counts!) See if you can do 10!
House/Homemaking
Make a meal plan for the next five days. Plan for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks. When there’s a plan in place it reduces decision anxiety!
Clothes:
Go through your shoes today. Throw away those that are in bad shape, give away those you don’t wear, and organize what you keep.
You’ve got a unique opportunity today! Use it well!
