I’ve been reading a couple of good books of late. These aren’t Christian books, but have been challenging and educational nonetheless. The first is Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. If you want to expand your picture of the world, check out this book. I just learned that he is coming to speak at a local college campus and I have it on my calendar!
The second book I’m reading is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. I’m guessing that you’ve likely heard of this book. Randy Pausch was dying of cancer when he made his last lecture at the college campus where he’d been teaching. His message was videotaped so his young children would know something about their dad someday when he wouldn’t be around. Someone put the video on YouTube and thousands of people shared it with their friends. The book eventually followed.
I’ve found both of these books to both challenge me and expand my thinking.
So what have you been reading lately?
I just finished "East Wind: West Wind" by Pearl Buck. SO GOOD! I've also read "The Good Earth" and "Peony" by her as well. I'm going to pick up "Imperial Woman" tomorrow at the library!
And thanks to my super fast Twitter fingers, I won Karen Kingsbury's newest book (signed by her, too!) tonight. I won't get it until October, but I can wait. It's called "Shades of Blue."
Just finished Fearless by Max Lucado and Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore which was EXCELLENT!
Getting ready to start The Church Ladies by Lisa Samson, then The Shack and then Green by Ted Dekker!
After that who knows… !
Jill,
Well in addition to being about half way through Real Moms…Real Jesus, I just finished Fearless by Max Lucado and I am currently working on the Penny by Joyce Meyer.
I too enjoyed the Last Lecture after I saw it on a talk show somewhere, watched the Youtube video on it and had to get the book.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
The Screwtape Letters, a couple of YOUR books ;), and a few craft type books…
I will have to check out those two…sound great!
Blessings!

I have read both of these! The Last Lecture is my favorite. I am currently reading the newest book by Michael Palmer.
Annie,
What is the title of the Michael Palmer book?
Ohh I've read both of those books and am actually re-reading The Last Lecture, I LOVE it!
Right now I'm reading a book called "Raising Resilient Children," it's a great read and I'm really getting a lot out of it.
