Welcome to the very first Christmas episode of the No More Perfect Podcast! This was so much fun to record, and we’re eager to share it with you today.
Christmas holds a special place in most of our hearts in some way or another. And that’s true for Mark and I as well! So today’s episode isn’t one filled with “key takeaways” or “next steps,” but is one of reflection and reminder for the holiday season.
In this Christmas episode, Mark and I are reflecting on some of our favorite Christmas memories, traditions, food, music, and more! You’ll find that it’s filled with laughs as we look back on some of our favorite memories and share about how we’ve shifted some of our favorite traditions as we’ve become empty-nesters. And to close, we’re reading the most important story that truly is the reason for the season!
We hope this not only warms your heart to reflect on your own Christmas traditions, but also holds some good reminders as you head into the holiday celebrations this year.
We’d love to know: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions and memories? Just scroll down and leave a comment! We’d really like for this to be a two-way conversation filled with special Christmas memories.

I married into a Scandinavian family (Johnsons, Paulsons, Ericksons), so we traditionally make lefse around Thanksgiving, to be enjoyed at Christmas. I also had to learn to eat lutefisk. (I am everything BUT Scandinavian). I’ve come to realize that lutefisk is MUCH better than oyster stew! 🙂
We’ve always gone next door to my husband’s family’s home for Christmas Eve. When our kids were younger, we started the tradition of inviting his family to join us for our Christmas breakfast of side pork, pancakes, eggs, fried potatoes, etc. – YUM! (THIS is our favorite Christmas meal!) When they were much younger, we’d spend Christmas Day sledding and ice skating on our pond. We still complete the day with games. Our kids are grown now, but still single and living close by, so we’ve not had to adjust to that yet. We also now all have matching Grinch pj’s that we hang out in on Christmas Day (my husband loves the Grinch). 🙂
Enjoyed hearing your Christmas traditions and memories!
Such fun traditions!
