I know, I know…it’s not even Thanksgiving and I’m already talking about Christmas!  I’m not usually one to jump the gun on Christmas, but I want to tell you about a book I’m reading by Liz Curtis Higgs!

Liz was a speaker at a Hearts at Home conference several years ago.  She’s warm, welcoming, and full of wisdom!

COVER-Women-of-Christmas-FINAL-134-x-195Liz has just released a book called The Women of Christmas and it tells the stories of Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna.  I’ve been reading it each night before I go to bed and I’m loving how it’s getting my heart ready for the Christmas season!  I love what Liz says,

“Christmas is so much more than a holiday. It’s a season for reflection, for preparation, for renewal. The perfect time to put aside our shopping lists and reach for our Bibles, where the story of the Christ child awaits us.”

I didn’t want to wait until next week to tell you about it, just in case you’re looking for something to spiritually deepen your Christmas experience and would want to pick the book up so you could read it through the holiday season!  She’s also leading a weekly study over on her blog, if you need something to spur you on in making your Christmas a deeper experience!

I’d love to know: What do you do to personally to keep Jesus the reason for the season?
