Today is our blog hop day where I get to share on a topic and other moms join in and share their thoughts on the topic too! Just click on a link below to find encouragement from other moms in the trenches! (If you receive my posts by email, head over to jillsavage.org to participate in the hop!)
Our topic today is making peace with your imperfect home. In the early years of parenting, my battle was the toys and clutter of small children. They say trying to clean house with small children is like shoveling snow in a snowstorm. I certainly experienced that!
These days I’m making peace with not being able to redecorate or get new furniture like I’d like to. We just don’t have the budget and I am working to be content with that reality.
What about you? How are you making peace with your imperfect home?
I totally get that “making peace” with what we can’t have. When I stare at those ugly light fixtures we were going to change out 8 years ago when we moved into our “new” house, the empty curtain rods on every window, and the too tiny kitchen that can barely hold our family of seven, I find myself on the slippery slope of dissatisfaction. But when I keep my eyes on Jesus none of it seems to matter. Guess it’s all about where I look, huh? I’m still living in the “snowstorm”, too- which is why we’ll just wait to change out the carpet 🙂 Thanks for hosting the link up today. Blessings to you, Jill.
Good perspective, Alicia. It is all about where we put our eyes!
How do I get to be part of this group that links their blog?
