In this unique season of family, we have the opportunity to be intentional about our self-care, our relationships, and even taking care of the home we live in.
Sometimes we need a little vision, though. A plan. Some ideas that get us heading in the right direction.
Here are your day 50 opportunities:
Read Proverbs 3. Don’t neglect attending church online today. Your soul needs the direction and connection. If you don’t have a home church, I invite you to mine: https://eastview.church/
?You:
Take a nap.
?Marriage:
Do a 15 minute “connecting date” somewhere away from the kids, i.e. spread a blanket in the yard or living room and just lay on it and talk, sit on the porch, or sit in the kitchen and enjoy a cup of tea and chat. Intimacy doesn’t just happen in marriage–it’s created.
???Kids:
Everyone outside for 15 minutes minimum each day.
Do something together as a family–game night, have a picnic on the family room floor, watch home movies, etc. If you need ideas for movies, you can check out the list I provided last week here. (We started watching the The Kindness Diaries series last night from the list–so good and it could spark some great conversations with older kids and teens!)
?♀️Exercise:
Take a nice long walk. Walk somewhere different than you usually do, in nature if you can!
?Contact:
Really connect with one of your kids today. Listen to their heart. Don’t try to fix anything…just listen and empathize and validate their thoughts and feelings.
?House/Homemaking
Just clean up any messes made today. Other than that…nothing. Rest.
?Clothes:
Nothing. Rest.
You’ve got a unique opportunity today! Use it well!
